Permanent employment Estate Agents jobs abroad are usually difficult to find and usually attract a lot of competition. 

Estate Agent jobs abroad tend to be freelance operating on a  commission-only basis. Estate Agents commission structure can be very generous and you will usually be paid promptly.  Whilst relevant sales experience would be an advantage as an Estate Agent abroad the most important characteristics required are enthusiasm, self-confidence and dedication. Depending on the area in which you are seeking to work, you must be fluent in English or the native tongue and knowledge of other languages would be an asset.

Those who establish themselves as successful Estate Agents working abroad, tend to have started out in another industry before moving into an Estate Agent position.  This is a safer option as it will allow you to gain an appreciation of the surrounding and local culture before you start promoting properties to the tourist, expatriate or native population.

There are of course those who succeed by filling an Estate Agent vacancies directly but we seriously recommend that you have sufficient capital to sustain yourself until any commissions start to roll in.

The advantage of an Estate agent job overseas is evident in the increased flexibility provided by effectively being self employed.  By accepting an almost 'free-lance' position, you will get the support of an overseas employer for your move with the added bonus of flexible working hours.  As with all jobs abroad, the rough comes with the smooth.
